Telemetry Systems

Orbit offers a wide range of antenna tracking solutions for aeronautical telemetry applications. Aeronautical telemetry systems are typically used for space vehicles monitoring, airliner and military aircraft tests, weather balloons, etc.

Orbit tracking systems are designed to support a wide range of frequency bands - L, S, C, X & Ku. They are offered with antennas ranging in size from 1 to 8 meters (3 to 26 ft).

The tracking antennas are suitable for both portable and fixed platforms.

A typical antenna system consists of outdoor and indoor assemblies.

The outdoor assembly includes:

• Antenna and feed assembly
• RF front end
• Elevation over azimuth and tracking pedestal
• A variety of slip ring and/or rotary joint assemblies (optional)
• DSA (Digital Servo Amplifier) for each axis
• Base risers supporting a variety of payloads
• Video camera (optional)
• Trailers (optional)
  

The indoor unit includes:

• Central tracking controller/computer
• Tracking receivers and other test equipment (optional)
