The AL-2006-DDSA-1A Dual Digital Servo Amplifier (DDSA) is a servo driver for brushless motors with sinusoidal as well as trapezoidal commutation. It drives both axes of the AL-4012 pedestal.
The DDSA is a DSP-based unit responsible for motor current, motor velocity and axis position control loops as well as comprehensive build-in test (BIT) of the entire pedestal.
The DDSA is able to close not only motor current loop, but also velocity and position loops providing overall control of a servo axis. Sinusoidal commutation is reducing EMI/RFI emission and overcoming torque ripple. Standard position and velocity sensors are supported, like three-phase tacho generator, sinusoidal or discreet Hall Effect sensors, incremental encoder (A-quad-B), Sin/Cos, SSI, and BiSS.
The DDSA supports several digital serial interfaces: UART, SPI and CAN bus.
The DDSA two Servo Drivers are based on a single DSP, which contains (within a single chip) the non-volatile memory, SRAM, CPU, most of the I/O requirements and communication peripherals.
