VAWS

Helicopter pilots constantly face the challenge of flying low - to avoid other air traffic and/or anti-aircraft threats - and are often unable or reluctant to relinquish control to CFIT (Controlled Flight Into Terrain). With the increased complexity of operating today's advanced cockpits, low-altitude flights have become even more demanding for both civilian and military helicopter pilots.

ORBIT's Voice Altitude Warning (VAW) System is a life-saving system responsible for alerting the helicopter pilot by audio input about any deviation from the upper and lower limits of a pilot-programmable flight corridor. Based on the aircraft's own radar altimeter, VAW allows the pilot to remain within the defined corridor without requiring any "heads down" time.
